This course is intended for the training of employees responsible for the handling, offering for transport or transportation of dangerous goods using the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations (or TDGR) by ground to, from or within Canada.
Course Curriculum:
General Awareness
Function Specific:
o Identification / Classification
o Schedules 1 and 2 (Special Provisions)
o Means of Containment (Packaging’s) and Standards
o Dangerous Goods Safety Marks (Marking, Labelling and Placarding)
o Shipping Papers / Documentation
o ERAPs and Reporting
o Exceptions, including Dangerous Goods in Limited and Excepted Quantities
o Cross Border Shipments: US-Canada
Regulatory Requirements: This course meets the regulatory training standards set out in Part 6 of the Canadian Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations (TDGR) to educate employees on safely transporting dangerous goods to, from and within Canada, and includes all recent amendments.
Learning Objective(s): Navigating the TDG Regulations and the standards to determine classification/identification, packaging, dangerous goods safety marks (marking, labeling & placarding), documentation and ERAP requirements for the safe transportation of dangerous goods (DG).
Target Audience: Shippers, carriers and freight forwarders (i.e. dangerous goods employees and their supervisors) who handle, offer for transport or transport dangerous goods by ground to, from or within Canada.
Training handouts and link to the current TDGR Canada Regulations will be provided to registered participants.
